Of course this makes the whole Chief thing and all the Native American imagery we’ve been using for 80+ years even more baffling.
Good thing is Illinois is probably mere years away from ESPN+ doing that wacky thing they do for all Indiana football games where they walk around tailgates and ask drunken fans, "So what's a Hoosier?"
